It’s not about us!

We would like to take this opportunity to let all of our customers know we sincerely appreciate the support and patronage from each of you.

For those of you who don’t know, the proceeds from our sales are shared with others. We started Scented Candles and Beyond some years ago. Our initial motivation was to develop a viable business from the candle sales. Then we recognized a need to help families who lost a teenage child to street violence. What better place to do this than in our hometown of Philadelphia, which has one of the highest murder rates in the country? So, we came up with the idea to donate a portion of the proceeds to the city’s anti-violence efforts. 

As a Christian-owned company, we believe in the power of prayer, which is why we include a handwritten prayer with the money we donate to each family or organization. We want families to know that there are people—strangers in fact—who indeed care. Our hearts break for these families, but our prayers remain consistent.

Scented Candles and Beyond has been donating money to families in need and city youth agencies for the past few years. In addition, we place approximately 500 posters around the city of Philadelphia each year, asking the community to pray for our teenagers.

And that’s not all! We have a Web site: www.prayfortheteenagers.com. This Web site offers, of course, our prayers, upcoming events for teenagers, resources for parents and much more!!! We are currently in the process of installing a nine-minute, educational video for teenagers and their parents on gun violence. We will also be donating this video to various schools in the Philadelphia area. Believe me when I say, we are just getting started!

So, now you know; Scented Candles and Beyond is not about us. It’s about all of us helping each other.
